Amy Collins BA (Hons) Music, MA Composition for Film & TV

I am a composer, orchestrator, songwriter, pianist and conductor.

I recently completed a Masters degree in Composition for Film & TV at the University of Bristol. During my time here, I had the opportunity to compose for a wide range of films including wildlife documentaries, animations and dramas. I composed in a variety of styles including classical, contemporary, popular, jazz and folk. I was commissioned by an animator to write music for a wallpaper app for iPhones. I also co-founded a post-production company called Spark Productions alongside two fellow editing and sound design students.

Whilst studying for my Bachelors degree in Music at the University of York, I simultaneously developed as a folk singer-songwriter and wrote songs which can be heard athttps://soundcloud.com/amycollins91. I wrote, recorded and produced an EP, Autumn Leaves. Three of the songs on this album were featured on BBC Introducing. I performed at clubs and pubs in York, at the university and at The Troubadour Folk Club in London. I was also the lead vocalist, keyboard player and songwriter for York electronic funk band Grinny Grandad and performed at Beat-Herder Festival, Galtres Parklands Festival and The Bradford Playhouse.
